Little Truff, a cute Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, has a new friend, Chloe - a highly intelligent yet mischievous chocolate point Siamese cat who's just moved in next door to the Nelson family. Late one afternoon, David takes Little Truff for a walk to the local dairy to buy some milk and ties the Cavalier to a lamppost. It's Don Cameron, Truff's former abusive owner. He kidnaps Truff, and as they drive off, she sees David come out of the shop. In desperation she scrabbles at the window to get his attention, but to no avail. Little Truff is taken a long way from home, but why?
